Dear Colleagues:
The Executive Committee voted unanimously to approve the motion to renew the modest change we made in the FASIP process last year. Below you will find a form that asks you to designate your accomplishments in the areas of teaching, scholarship, service, and other over the two year period that stretches from 07-01-03 to 06-30-05. The rationale for considering a two-year period is two-fold: 1.) the FASIP allocation we receive is never sufficient to recognize all of the accomplishments in the faculty in a given year and 2.) last year’s allocation was stretched to cover the preceding year, when no FASIP funds were allocated at all.
By using a two-year window, the FASIP committee has the opportunity to redress inequities that arise just because a candidate happens to have had an outstanding year in a year when FASIP funds are in short –or in no--supply.
By filling out and returning this form to Quionne (either by email or to her office) by Nov. 4th, you will indicate to the PEC that you wish to be considered for a merit increase this year.
All members of the tenure-stream faculty who have completed one full year of service at Rutgers are eligible for consideration for a merit increase.
Please do not put off completing this important task. The PEC wishes to grant careful consideration to all who wish to put themselves forward in the merit process and will only be able to consider those who submit a completed version of the attached form. We are working against a very tight deadline and will not be able to pursue or set aside funds for non-respondents.
If you have any difficulties opening the files below (saved her as a .doc and as a .rtf), please contact Quionne immediately. She will arrange either to get you a paper copy or to have Russell assist you with the technical side of downloading the memos.
