A.B., Chicago; A.M., Ph.D., Brown
Professor Galperin is the author of Revision and Authority in Wordsworth (University of Pennsylvania Press, 1989), The Return of the Visible in British Romanticism (Johns Hopkins University Press, 1993), and, most recently, The Historical Austen (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2002). In The Historical Austen, he reads the history of Austen's novels' reception through other histories -- literary, aesthetic and social -- to reassess Austen's achievement and historical method in general. He is currently working on a study on the history of missed opportunities in romantic-period discourse. |
