Richard Dienst is an Associate Professor of English at Rutgers University. He is the author of Still Life in Real Time: Theory After Television (Duke University Press, 1994) and co-editor of Reading the Shape of the World: Toward an International Cultural Studies (Westview Press, 1996). He is currently working on two projects: World in Debt, an exploration of contemporary cultural theory in the context of globalization and the critique of neoliberalism; and Remains to be Seen, a set of essays on the materiality of visual media.
