Another Banner Year of Awards for Rutgers English Faculty
Congratulations to Professors Cheryl A. Wall, John McClure, Martin Gliserman, and Richard E. Miller, who have received the most prestigious awards given annually by the Board of Governors for faculty research and teaching.
Cheryl A. Wall has received the Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Research. This is now the third year in a row that a Rutgers English faculty has received this distinction. For the moment, we now have eight recipients of this award in our department: Marianne DeKoven (2005); William Galperin (2004); Michael Warner (2002); John Belton (1997); Myra Jehlen (1995); Michael McKeon (1992); and George Levine (1990).
John McClure has received the Warren I. Susman Award for Excellence in Teaching. This is now the third year in the past four that a Rutgers English faculty has received this distinction. For the moment, we now have eight recipients of this award in our department: Ron Levao (2004); Marianne DeKoven (2003); Carolyn Williams (1999); Cheryl A. Wall (1997); Ann Baynes Coiro (1996); Harriet Davidson (1994); and Barry V. Qualls (1985).
Martin Gliserman has received the FAS Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education.
Richard E. Miller has received the Faculty-Teacher Award, the same award that Kurt Spellmeyer received in 2004.
