Department Computing Labs
 

Information Technology Services supports three Writing Program computer classrooms, the Graduate computing lab and the Plangere Writing Center lab.

The following software is installed in the computing labs:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft Office Enterprise 2003
  • WordPerfect 2000
  • Acrobat Reader 6
  • WinRAR
  • Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 (only in WP computer classrooms)
  • NetOp School (only in WP computer classrooms)
  • Internet Explorer 6
  • Netscape Communicator 7.1

The Writing Program computer classrooms are available by reservation only and are for use by faculty and their classes. Your NetID is required in order to login to these systems. All computer classroom systems are re-imaged upon every reboot. This process removes any data saved to the hard drive and restores the desktop to its default state.

The three computer classrooms are located as follows:

  • College Avenue Campus, Murray Hall, Room 038
  • Livingston Campus, Lucy Stone Hall B-Wing, Room B103
  • Douglass Campus, 135 George Street, Room 102

The Graduate Computing Lab is for use by English department grad students and faculty. These systems accept your Novell login ID in order to access English network resources, such shared drives. It is located on the College Avenue Campus, Murray Hall, Room 116. Please visit the Grad Office in Murray Hall to obtain the key code for the lab door.

The Plangere Writing Center Lab is for use by Writing Program tutors and their students. Your NetID is required in order to login to these systems. The lab is located on the College Avenue Campus, Murray Hall, Room 302.
