In “Introduction to Dramatic Literature” we will explore the characteristics of the dramatic form and examine the ways in which the purpose and the presentation of the genre have evolved over time.
The syllabus will include works by Shakespeare, Wilde, Gilbert and Sullivan, Shaw, Stoppard, and Pinter, among others, and the course requirements will include two papers, an in-class exam, and active participation in class discussions.
