Minor in English

A Minor is a good way to explore the breadth of the English Department, to learn new approaches to reading and writing, and to practice both critical and creative thinking.

The Minor consists of 18 credits (6 courses) in English above the 100 level.

Of these, 12 credits (4 courses) must be at or above the 300 level, and students must get a grade of C or better in each.

Students must take one historical period course in either Medieval, Renaissance (sixteenth- or seventeenth-century), or Restoration/eighteenth-century literature.

A maximum of 6 credits total in creative writing and in film may be counted towards the minor
