Tracy Smith read for Writers @ Rutgers a few years ago, as one of a group of three young women poets who had each published a first book. Since then, she has won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry for Life on Mars (2011), joined the faculty at Princeton, where she directs the creative writing program, and, in 2017, accepted the post of Poet Laureate of the United States, so it seemed time we welcomed her back. Her books include The Body’s Question and Duende; a new collection of poems, Wade in the Water is forthcoming in 2018.  Her memoir, Ordinary Light, appeared in 2015.
